WHAT IS ZUMBA?

Zumba is a popular fitness program inspired by Latin dance. The word "Zumba" comes from a Colombian word that means to move fast and have fun, which is just how people describe the routine. Using upbeat Latin music together with cardiovascular exercise, Zumba is aerobic dancing that is lots of fun and easy to learn. Zumba seems to be an optimal fitness choice, mixing cardio intervals with resistance training. Many experts believe that an interval/resistance combination maximizes caloric output, fat burning, and total body toning. Zumba mixes effective body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow, fun dance steps. People seem to forget about working out during a Zumba session, allowing them to exercise longer, and burn even more calories. A typical Zumba session lasts about an hour and incorporates several dance styles, including cumbia, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, mambo, rumba, flamenco, and calypso and Salsaton. The Latin music includes both fast and slow rhythms, allowing for a great cardio workout as well as body sculpting exercises. Depending on the instructor, you may even get a taste of belly dancing or hip-hop dancing, too.

  •   Zumba Kids-In the midst of different types of Zumba dance, we have got a workout for kids. Now little boys & girls can use their energy in a proper way. Zumba kids targets kids from 7 to 14 year’s of age. By adding different games & activities in the workout, the confidence and coordination of kids is increased.


  • Zumba Gold® is modified to the moves and pace to suit the needs of participants young and old, and for the ones that are just starting out to exercise. it is also great for beginners as well. Zumba Gold also offers chair choreography for individuals with physical limitations. What stays the same are all the elements the Zumba Fitness – party is known for.


TYPES OF ZUMBA MUSIC


  • SALSA-Salsa is a concoction of different styles and cultures but its home can be called New York because it was created by merging of different diverse groups. The center  of the this dance form is Cuban and Caribbean which is fast paced. This dance style is helps in choreographing different types of Zumba dance moves which are very aerobic in nature.

  • BHANGRA-Bhangra is an Indian Dance form widely famous throughout the country. This particular dance form is performed by Punjabis, a community in India. This dance form his performed during a festival called Baisakhi. The heavy dhol beats make Bhangra famous.

  • REGGAETON-It is a perfect combination of Latin Hip Hop, Jamaican, Latin and Electronica. It’s heavy drum beats make it similar to American Hip Hop but it originates from Puerto Rico.

  • SAMBA-Samba is the beloved dance of Brazilians though it originated from the slave tribes of West Africa, it is now a Brazilian national dance. This dance form is performed on the streets on festivals and his widely known for its sexy hip movement.
